WILL FOR CHILDREN
DELHI, INDIA, DECEMBER 2016
In an exceptional and unprecedented gathering of Nobel Laureates and Leaders from around the world, the First Laureates and Leaders for Children Summit 2016 was hosted by the President of India at the Presidential Palace, New Delhi, India.
ABOUT THE 2016 SUMMIT
The December 2016 Summit’s objective was to build a strong moral platform for a child-friendly world, with a focus on globalising compassion for ending trafficking, especially its worst forms like sexual exploitation and slavery, everywhere.
The Summit brought together the collective leadership of 24 Laureates and Leaders, young people and over 150 eminent personalities from academia, business, civil society, sports, arts and culture.

The Summit Declaration, Will for Children, resolved that Laureates and Leaders would act for the rights of children around the world to end violence against children; establish child-friendly business practices; advocate for adequate financing for these initiatives; and support inter-agency and intergovernmental cooperation.

At the close of the summit, Nobel laureates and world leaders marched with more than 6000 young people to launch the 100 Million campaign, an historic, global, youth-led mobilisation for every child to be free, safe and educated.
